Esther Nieves

Secretary

Esther Nieves has worked with grassroots, statewide, and national organizations. Her career experience includes leadership positions in city government (Chicago), not-for-profit/non-governmental, and philanthropy. In these roles, she has supported communities' engagement and leadership participation in efforts that improve their quality of life, advance inclusion, and bring about social, political, and economic equity.    She is a faculty member and field placement director at Saint Augustine College’s Social Work Department.  St. Augustine is the first Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) in Illinois.  She also serves as a consultant to nonprofits and foundations, working with various consulting firms engaged in community building, social change, and equity efforts.
